I am currently looking to develop my career as a web programmer. I specialize in PHP/MySQL backends, and enjoy writing HTML/CSS/JavaScript frontends as well.
My experience as a designer has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of collaborative work environments, and I am looking for the opportunity to work on large projects as an integral part of a team.
Experience
I have worked as a freelance designer since 2004 in many different capacities.
- Traditional Print:
- two years experience as the layout and graphics editor for a university newsmagazine
- five years experience in the University of Minnesota College of Design's print lab

Education
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota, 2007, and will be completing a Master of Architecture in June of 2012.
An architectural education is an education in holistic design, a philosophy that embraces programming as much as it embraces physical craft. During my graduate education I have worked to integrate new and different technologies into all of my projects; programming has become a natural extension of my design philosophy and a poweful way to play with concepts and ideas.
I am motivated by difficult problems, and readily learn new skills and technologies from the physical to the digital; my projects page contains a good overview of the many projects I have been involved with over the years and provides a good sampling of my skills.
